SuperBowl XLI has chiropractors traveling to Florida
Super Bowl XLI is less than a week away and the excitement is growing. Both the Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Colts have been preparing in order to be in the best shape possible for the big Sunday event, the championship game of the National Football League (NFL), Super Bowl XLI.
We’d love to be writing about the New York Giants or the New York Jets, but we’ll have to see what happens next year. Maybe this year we’ll see some players receiving chiropractic care on national television. In super bowls past, players have traveled with their chiropractors, teams have brought chiropractors out, and local chiropractors have been on hand to provide care for players in the a game.
In 2005, Terrell Owens reportedly brought his chiropractor along with him to Jacksonville, Florida, for Super Bowl XXXIX, when the NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles met the AFC champion New England Patriots. In late 2004, Terrell had suffered a serious injury from a “horse-collar tackle” by Cowboys defensive back Roy Williams and had to miss the rest of the regular season and the playoffs. There was a lot of news in the press as Owens was cleared to play in Super Bowl XXXIX, defying doctors orders by playing on his injured ankle containing 2 screws and a metal plate.
In the 1990s, Joe Montana of the San Francisco 49ers, was receiving chiropractic care before the big game and it was broadcast on national television. NFL superstar Emmitt Smith continues to talk about the benefits of chiropractic care and was recently seen receiving a chiropractic adjustment while preparing for a salsa dance on the television show “Dancing with the Stars.” He spoke highly of chiropractic, and he won the show.

GoDaddy SuperBowl girl Candace Michelle (wife of a West Los Angeles chiropractor) may or may not be seen during Super Bowl XLI. The commercials submitted by the registrar Web company have yet to be approved for national television broadcast. GoDaddy has been making some pretty funny commercials lately (”now I’m going to do your mother”) that don’t involve Candice. We’ll see next week which ones get past the review boards and actually make it onto television screens.
